Decommissioning of Dalley Street Zone Substation

Located in the northern part of Sydney CBD, Dalley Street Zone Substation currently supplies 4,924 customers with a mix of residential and commercial properties. The project will transfer 39MVA load from this zone substation to Belmore Park Zone Substation.

Ausgrid has now installed new conduits and 11,000V electricity cables along Macquarie, Bridge, Hunter and Bent Streets, and restored the area.

Now that the cables have been installed, work is now focussed on connecting (jointing) the cables into the network to then transfer the electrical load from the Dalley Street Zone Substation to the Belmore Park Zone Substation. Once load transfer work is completed, electrical equipment within Dalley Street Zone Substation will be decommissioned and removed from site.
