Please be assured that the safety of our crews and the community remain our key focus as we restore the last 4,400 customers who have been without power as a result of two severe storms in the last week.
This was one of the worst storms to hit our network in the past 20 years with over 2,000 hazards on the network such as fallen trees, fallen powerlines, snapped power poles and flood damage.
Each incident is slightly different so we must be cautious to make sure no one is put at risk at any time. Every single location is important and the complexity of each determines how quickly it can be fixed while always being safe. This can mean that restoration might be a little slower than expected and we know that can be frustrating.
Over the last six days, we’ve safely and carefully restored over 205,000 customers and we continue to have every available crew on our network working to get power back safely. Restore times are being updated on our website.
Residential customers who have been impacted by recent weather events may be eligible to claim up to $250 for food or medication spoilage. To find out more visit ausgrid.com.au/claims.
To assist customers hardest hit following Wednesday night’s storm members of Ausgrid's customer and community teams will be available at drop-in locations to offer advice, phone charging facilities, technical support, material for life support customers, and guidance to help with claims.
