Marc England begins as Ausgrid CEO

Ausgrid welcomes Marc England as the new CEO, following Mr Richard Gross’ departure after six years at the helm.

The Chairman of Ausgrid, Dr Helen Nugent AC said, “Marc brings a wealth of global experience to his position as Ausgrid’s new CEO, and we look forward to seeing him further enhance Ausgrid’s position within the Australian energy industry as we transition to a renewables future.”

For the past six years, Mr England was CEO of New Zealand’s publicly listed Genesis Energy. Prior to that he worked for AGL in Sydney including as Group Head of Strategy and as Executive General Manager New Energy, as well as executive roles for British Gas in the UK.

Mr England said, “I am excited to have returned to the Australian energy market at a critical juncture in the transition towards a sustainable future. I look forward to leading Ausgrid through the next phase of the company’s journey and ensuring electricity distribution plays an active role in shaping a net zero future.”
